So we have finally made our shortlist for the Digital Shorts interviews. It was a tough job as there were so many great projects and teams this year. Sorry if you didn't make it through, it would have been great to select far more but we can only develop 7 projects.
The interviews are next week and we will update the website with info once we have selected the 7 for development. It's a very exciting time!

I've just got back from a really great few days at Encounters short film festival in Bristol. Well worth a visit for short film lovers - I saw some amazing shorts - and some Screen East funded films were also there which is great. Seeing our films on the big screen is a real buzz. Well done to all our filmmakers who had films in competition and other screenings - they looked fab!
Just a quick update on Digi Shorts - We have finally read all 112 scripts and I am now working my way through all the showreels. There's some great stuff in there so it's hard to make a shortlist - but we will get there and make 'the calls' on Friday 4th. Fingers crossed!
For those people who missed the deadline and want to know what is happening next year - an announcement will be made but we don't have firm deadline dates yet. Watch this space!

112 Applications received!
The Digital Shorts deadline arrived on Monday 9th November and I was thrilled to receive 112 applications. We changed the guidelines this year and were asking for scripts so I did wonder if we would get as many as previous years, clearly I didn’t need to worry!
Having spent several days logging the applications, it’s now the fun part – reading all the scripts with a script reader and making a list for interview. Applicants will be notified on 4th December if they have been selected for an interview – so fingers crossed you get a call from me on that day!
